Designing Life Around Congestion

Analyze what happens when daily traffic becomes so burdensome that people start adapting their bodies, schedules, and even vehicles to the commute itself. Build a case study of the social and economic costs of chronic congestion, then propose interventions at the levels of transport planning, employer policy, and housing development. Which changes would reduce the need for self-defeating coping strategies, and which would merely make congestion more bearable?
